Love it! It's good to see real values strung together like this....how can we help but express our response to the state of things? It needs to come out, but to be tempered with the realization that there is a lot of what you list out there....the venerable monks, walking for peace, are such an amazing backdrop to the "bad" that's happening....paradox, as they say! We have to hold it all.
Blessings on this lyrical, powerful, flow-flow-flowing plea-prayer-praise song. Thank you for reminding us that we can still find the words to express our grief and hope at the same time. Thank you, Moudy.
I met you through Phyllis Cole-Dai on the raft when you were her guest.
Your poetry heals my wounds and the wounds of our country and world.
Words from the heart are powerful!
I especially like how you share how the poem came to life.
It comes more alive because of that.
I think your poem today needs to reach far and wide into all who are feeling such dispair as our democracy is being put to death. Thank you for your comment.
Oh bless you for saying so. That night with Phyllis was incredible, I feel fortunate to have shared my work with so many receptive and open-hearted folks. May despair lift in any way it can.
All those things in your poem are here among us - keep looking around, keep going out, reaching out, st stuttering, til they flow smoothly into your day just by shifting your gaze & noticing …
A poem, a plea AND a prayer.
interchangeable categories, gratefully so <3
Perfect energy for Imbolc!
More and more towards those sweet brighter days!

Thank you Karen <3 I've heard of the walking monks. They inspire me. And yes, hold it all, all in one breath.
