Light Hole
a cauldron of brimming hope
Light Hole No one knows what actually happens inside a black hole, but we do know, to the extent that we can be certain, that nothing, not even light, is fast enough to escape its pull. All that light, trapped inside. Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to name it a light hole? Wouldn’t it help to name the wide abyss in the center of your heart a cauldron of brimming hope? It is difficult to carry the weight of so much stuffed brilliance. And to then learn this most luminous fact: there can be no further collapse. Only the steady slow evaporation of a love so singular it ends in a flash, a final sung note made by the immensity of what it carries. - Moudi Sbeity
I recently read Black Holes: A Very Short Introduction by Katherine Blundell. To be frank, I understood maybe a percent of it, as far the science goes. Though I did see the poetry of it, and have since been writing a few poems inspired by this mysterious heart of a galaxy.
